Honoring the Association of Pacific Ports
I recognized the Association of Pacific Ports (APP) on the House floor last Thursday to celebrate more than a century of advancing maritime commerce, cooperation, and security across the Pacific. Having previously served as Chairperson of the Commonwealth Ports Authority and President of APP, I know firsthand the critical role our ports play in our region’s economy and security. Today, APP brings together port leaders from the CNMI, American Samoa, Guam, Alaska, California, Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Canada, Taiwan, Fiji, and Tonga to strengthen regional collaboration and keep our maritime supply chains safe and resilient. As APP prepares for its 112th Annual Conference in Guam next month, I was honored to recognize the Association’s enduring commitment to partnership across the Indo-Pacific.
