Home Act: Making Homeownership Easier For Veterans
Buying a home and becoming a homeowner is complicated and often comes with unexpected costs. When veterans return home after serving in the military - the stress of navigating this process is the last thing they need. We can mitigate this difficulty by providing financial counseling to our veterans so they can make lasting plans to ensure their future is well prepared for. This is exactly why I am partnering with former Navy Seal, Congressman Van Orden on the HOME Act of 2025. The Heroes Owning and Materializing Equity Act of 2025 will provide veterans with financial counselors who will educate and prepare our former soldiers with supplemental financial planning tools as they transition into civilian life. This bill will also create a database of homes on the market that have been adapted for the needs of our disabled veterans. I urged my colleagues to pass this piece of legislation this week, not only for veteran homeowners to thrive, but also for our disabled veterans to find comfortable homes.
