Following the Major Disaster Declaration for Super Typhoon Sinlaku, FEMA has opened the application process for Individual Assistance for residents who sustained damage to their homes and property. Accessing these programs starts with filing a claim, but for many families that process can be difficult, whether because of transportation challenges, internet access, or navigating the application itself. To help bridge that gap, our team has been going out into the villages with computers, internet access, and application materials to assist residents with starting the process and making sure damages are properly documented with FEMA. It has been encouraging to see so many people come out and engage with us, and I am grateful to all of our community partners who helped provide space and spread the word. For information on how to apply and what FEMA can do for you, please disasterassistance.gov or the Survivor Recovery Center located at the Multipurpose Center on Saipan with locations on Tinian and Rota opening soon.
