Getting to know our Veterans

In my first weeks on the House Veterans Affairs Committee, I have been honored to hear first hand stories from veterans who have served our nation. I firmly believe if we truly want to provide them with the treatment and benefits they have earned, we must listen to their experiences. This week, I had the privilege of meeting with Project Buddy Check 670, a group of CNMI veterans dedicated to supporting one another and navigating the benefits and services available to them by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, alongside the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Saipan Post 3457. I have long believed that veterans in the CNMI are underserved, and every conversation about their challenges strengthens my resolve to fight for them. It fills me with pride to see the work Project Buddy Check and the VFW is doing to expand access to critical programs and services. I’m on board and ready to support them in any way I can. Thank you for visiting and for all the great work you do for your fellow veterans.
