Fisheries Workshop Applications Open

CNMI fishermen are encouraged to explore the Marine Resource Education Program’s (MREP) Western Pacific Fisheries Science and Management Workshop, taking place April 2–8, 2027, in Honolulu. This workshop offers commercial, charter, noncommercial, and subsistence fishermen an opportunity to learn how federal fisheries science and management work and how to make their voices heard. Administered by the Gulf of Maine Research Institute, the program provides lodging, meals, and travel reimbursement for non-federal participants. No prior formal education is required, and active fishermen receive first priority for the limited seats.
