Fighting For The Territories With Marine Veteran, Randy Johnson
We all know that our home is among the five US Territories that are overlooked and lack the medical care available in CONUS. We have a long way to go in acquiring and staffing up our healthcare system - but I have an idea! Check out my new bill, the TRAVEL Act of 2025. I’ve partnered with our neighbors in the Indo-Pacific, Congressman Moylan and Congresswoman Radewagen, to lead this piece of legislation that advocates for bringing in specialized medical care for our nation’s heroes.
Similar to Doctors Without Borders, this bill would create a VA program to increase specialized medical care in each of the US Territories. For periods of up to one year, VA doctors would be stationed throughout the territories to treat patients in need of care.
Purple Heart recipient and Marine Veteran, Randy Johnson, flew across the world to testify in front of the House Committee of Veterans Affairs in support of this bill and to explain, firsthand, the unmet medical needs of our veterans in the CNMI.
