FEMA Provides Update on BRIC Program
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) issued an update this week on the status of the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) program, notifying states, Tribal Nations, and territories of ongoing efforts to resume programmatic support for BRIC awards and sub-applications. FEMA indicated that full program support, including award monitoring, closeouts, and pre-award reviews, will resume once the current lapse in appropriations ends. The agency also shared that its internal evaluation of the program has been completed and that future funding will be directed toward core hazard mitigation and infrastructure resilience projects. FEMA plans to release a new funding opportunity in the coming months and will continue working with communities to advance eligible projects. Applicants and recipients in the CNMI are encouraged to coordinate with their FEMA Regional Offices for project-specific questions.
