FEMA Awards $279,000 for Emergency Power at Tinian Fire Station
November 2, 2026
Reliable emergency power is essential for emergency responders, especially when typhoons disrupt electricity across our islands. Through FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Grant Program, Tinian Department of Fire and EMS Station #7 will receive $279,548 in federal funding, covering 100% of the project cost, to install a generator and above-ground fuel storage tank. Funded under FEMA’s disaster recovery efforts following Super Typhoon Yutu, this investment will help the station maintain critical operations during power outages and strengthen Tinian’s emergency response capabilities. Keeping our first responders equipped and ready is an important part of protecting our communities.
