Federal Housing Funds Awarded to Support CNMI Housing Needs

This week, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) provided advance notice of over $1.46 million in Fiscal Year 2025 formula grant awards for the Northern Mariana Islands. The CNMI is set to receive $980,125 through the Community Development Block Grant program to support decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expanded economic opportunities. An additional $407,723 is being allocated through the HOME Investment Partnerships Program to support the construction, rehabilitation, or rental assistance for affordable housing. The Emergency Solutions Grant program will provide $81,210 to help individuals and families regain stability after experiencing a housing crisis or homelessness.
