FAA Briefing on ATC Modernization
On Tuesday, I joined a bipartisan briefing held for Members of the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee and the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies to receive an update on the FAA’s nationwide air traffic control modernization effort. The presentation outlined major upgrades now underway, including the replacement of aging radar systems, enhanced runway safety technologies, and expanded weather-monitoring capabilities, supported by $12.5 billion in federal investment. These efforts are important for remote communities across the country where reliable air service is essential for healthcare, commerce, and tourism. We will continue to ensure that the CNMI is heard as these modernization projects advance.
