Before Wednesday’s Small Business Committee hearing, I met with the Small Business Administration’s Office of Advocacy. The Office of Advocacy serves as an independent voice for small businesses within the SBA and works to reduce unnecessary regulatory burdens across federal agencies. During the meeting, we discussed several regulatory challenges affecting CNMI small businesses and residents, including tariffs on packages sent to the U.S. mainland. The Office of Advocacy expressed its commitment to working with us to address these issues. I look forward to continuing this partnership to make sure federal policies support our local businesses and families.
