Diving into Policy with CNMI Medicaid Office
Major federal legislation often affects a wide range of programs, but understanding how those changes apply to the territories isn’t always straightforward. That’s why it’s so important to work closely with the agencies who monitor and implement these laws on the ground. On Monday, I met with CNMI Medicaid Director George Cruz and his team, Kennedy Benjamin and Vicenta Borja, to walk through the potential impacts of the recently enacted “One Big, Beautiful Bill Act.” Thanks to their diligence, we know that current funding levels for CNMI Medicaid remain intact, which is welcome news. But we also know that new requirements are coming, and we need to be ready. We’re committed to working together to ensure that CNMI Medicaid beneficiaries are protected and that the Commonwealth has the information it needs to navigate these changes.
