Courtesy Call with Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to the U.S.
On Tuesday, I had the honor of meeting with His Excellency Khazar Ibrahim, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the United States, during a courtesy call at my Capitol office. We discussed shared priorities such as energy security, renewable energy development, regional stability, and the importance of cultural and educational exchanges. We noted the parallels between Azerbaijan’s important role in the South Caucasus and the CNMI’s strategic position in the Indo-Pacific, emphasizing how small but pivotal regions contribute to global security and diplomacy. I also expressed my interest in building opportunities for academic and economic exchange that could extend to the CNMI and other U.S. territories. I look forward to continuing this dialogue to strengthen partnerships that benefit both our nation and the CNMI.
