Connecting with State Department Partners

On Wednesday, I spoke with Seth Bailey, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Australia, New Zealand, and Pacific Island Affairs in the State Department’s Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs. We discussed a range of issues affecting the Marianas and the broader Pacific region, including regional security dynamics, U.S. engagement with Pacific Island partners, and opportunities to strengthen economic development in the Marianas. I also raised priorities specific to the CNMI and explored ways the State Department can further support stability, prosperity, and U.S. strategic interests in the Pacific.
