Congressional App Challenge winners

Kelly Zheng and Jedric Aniciete of Marianas High School, and Mai Peters and Yu Ling Chai of Saipan Southern High School were in Washington DC this week as winners of the 2024 Congressional App Challenge. These incredible students made me so proud as they repped the CNMI during the presentation of their work on Capitol Hill. The students created an app called Neni, which translates everyday English words and phrases to Chamorro. I’m amazed by the complex work they did to produce this. It is such a profound achievement and I’m in awe of their commitment to preserving Chamorro culture as young students. Very proud of you all for what you have and will accomplish!
