I was honored to receive a Distinguished Community Health Center Advocate Award last week from the National Association of Community Health Centers. Community Health Centers receive federal funding to provide cost-effective primary care in populations with limited access to health care. The CNMI’s Community Health Center, Isla Community Health, leverages $2,763,612 in federal investments to serve 3,725 patients across three service delivery sites. I have been persistent in advocating for additional funding sources for Isla and remain focused on doing so in the future.
