As our islands continue to recover from the impacts of Super Typhoon Sinlaku, there are still moments that remind us we are part of something larger.  This July, the CNMI will be recognized on the national stage as part of America’s 250th birthday celebration, with the first-ever multi-time zone Times Square ball drop beginning with the Northern Marianas and Guam.  This historic moment, led by America250, will highlight our place in the American story, with our official time zone (Chamorro Standard Time) marking the very first countdown of the celebration.  At a time when our community is focused on rebuilding and recovery, it is encouraging to see the CNMI included and recognized in a unifying national event that connects Americans across every corner of the country.
