I’m proud to join Senators Mazie Hirono, Brian Schatz, along with Representatives Jill Tokuda and Ed Case, in introducing a bicameral resolution commemorating the 70th anniversary of the U.S. Forest Service Institute of Pacific Islands Forestry (IPIF).  For the CNMI and our fellow territories across the Pacific, and the Freely Associated States, IPIF plays a vital role in advancing the research, data, and on-the-ground expertise needed to protect our unique island ecosystems, strengthen climate and disaster resilience, and support long-term conservation efforts.  This resolution reflects the strong and long-standing partnership between the Hawaii congressional delegation and the Pacific territories in elevating the needs of island communities in federal policy.  We are grateful for their continued collaboration as we work together to ensure the CNMI and other island jurisdictions have the tools and scientific support needed to protect our environment and build a more resilient future.
