Former Tinian residents Avery, Raena, and Juan Cabrera visited their congressional office in Washington on Tuesday while in D.C. for the National Lupus Advocacy Summit. They shared powerful insights that deepened my understanding of lupus, a debilitating condition in which the body’s immune system attacks its own healthy cells and tissues. Inspired by their advocacy, I decided to join the Congressional Lupus Caucus. Thank you to the Cabrera family for your visit. I hope we catch up again soon.
