Building Relationships for the CNMI’s Future

So much of Congress’s work depends on building relationships and fostering honest dialogue. This week, I had the privilege to do just that in my meeting with House Judiciary Committee Chairman, Rep. Jim Jordan. In our meeting we discussed the CNMI, our labor challenges, and the future of the CNMI’s Immigration Transition Program, set to expire in 2029. With only a few years remaining for the CW-1 visa program and economic recovery still an urgent priority, I have made it my mission to bring this issue to Congress now and advocate for solutions that support our community. Chairman Jordan’s committee will play a key role in achieving a positive outcome for the CNMI, and I thank him for his time and his willingness to learn more about our islands, our people, and the challenges we face.
