Bring Essential Air Service to the CNMI

I introduced my second piece of legislation this week: H.R.2132 which would establish eligibility for Northern Marianas airports to participate in the U.S. Department of Transportation's Essential Air Service (EAS) Program. This program was created decades ago and benefits over 150 communities in areas like Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico by keeping the link to the National Air Service, allowing communities to accessible available air service. There is no other community that needs air service protection and support like the CNMI, and getting the CNMI to be included in this important program will support access and affordability of air transportation across our islands.
