Brigit Len Tabuena Brings Her Education Home to the CNMI
We’re proud to highlight Brigit Len Tabuena, a Bowdoin College student from Saipan who returned home to the CNMI to put her education into action at Hardt Eye Clinic & Diabetes Education Center. A Biology and Environmental Studies major, Brigit is gaining hands-on clinical experience while leading an important project to collect and analyze local HbA1c diabetes data. Through patient testing and research, her work is helping build a better understanding of diabetes in the CNMI and support greater awareness of the connection between diabetes and eye health. Having grown up in Saipan, Brigit has seen firsthand how diabetes and access to healthcare affect local families. It is inspiring to see her bring what she is learning at Bowdoin in Maine back home, combining clinical experience, research, and a commitment to community health as she works toward a future in optometry.
