Assessing Sinlaku’s Impact on Tinian’s Power Plant

On Tuesday, we toured the Commonwealth Utilities Corporation power plant in Tinian to assess firsthand the damage caused by Super Typhoon Sinlaku. We met with CUC Tinian Resident Manager Evelyn Manglona and her dedicated staff who have been working tirelessly to restore essential services in the aftermath of the storm. I was joined by Tinian Mayor Edwin Aldan and Chief of Staff Allen Perez as we discussed immediate recovery needs, long-term resiliency improvements, and the federal support necessary to strengthen our islands against future disasters.
