… And More for Retirees in the NMI

This week, I wrote to Assistant Secretary for Insular and International Affairs, Carmen Cantor, to advocate for the continuation of annual payments to the Prior Service Benefits Trust Fund. The Fund supports 109 remaining program members from the Northern Marianas who served the U.S. Navy Administration or the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands between 1944 and 1986, providing critical assistance for their everyday needs. These individuals helped shape the Commonwealth we live in today and it is our responsibility to honor their service and ensure their contributions are recognized.  I thank the NMI Settlement Fund Trustees for their support in administering these benefits.
