American Red Cross Volunteers Answer the Call
On Wednesday, we met with the leadership and volunteers of the American Red Cross to discuss their ongoing recovery efforts following Super Typhoon Sinlaku. We are grateful to hear firsthand about the tireless work they are doing to support affected families and communities across the Commonwealth. During our meeting, they also shared their online damage assessment resources, which document the storm’s impact in detail and help ensure recovery efforts are informed and responsive. We especially want to recognize the many youth volunteers, some still in high school, who continue showing up day after day even while facing losses of their own. Their resilience and selflessness reflect the very best of our community. We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Red Cross personnel and volunteers who traveled from across the nation to assist the CNMI during this difficult time.
