The Airport and the Road to Recovery

Having served as Chairwoman of the Commonwealth Ports Authority, it was difficult to see the damage at the Saipan International Airport after the super typhoon. I toured the facility on Friday with CPA Executive Director Esther Ada and her team to assess the extent of the impact. The airport took a significant hit. Rebuilding homes and communities is a major task, but restoring our economy is just as important. The airport is central to that. It is how supplies come in, how relief reaches us, and how we reconnect to the outside world. I am grateful to the CPA team for keeping operations moving, supporting incoming relief flights, and working toward restoring full access as part of our recovery.
