Advocating for Catastrophically Disabled Veterans
The Veterans Affairs Committee held a legislative hearing Wednesday to consider H.R. 6047, the Sharri Briley and Eric Edmundson Veterans Benefits Expansion Act of 2025, and H.R. 4077, the GUARD Veterans’ Health Care Act. During the hearing, Members of Congress heard powerful testimony from the father and full-time caregiver of Retired Sergeant Eric Edmundson. Sergeant Edmundson was gravely injured in the line of duty and now requires round-the-clock, life-sustaining care. Yet the VA has failed to provide the level of compensation needed to support his needs, forcing his family to shoulder an overwhelming financial burden. I am a proud original cosponsor of H.R. 6047 and I will always fight to ensure our veterans receive the benefits they have earned and rightly deserve.
