Acting Chair for the Committee of the Whole

On Wednesday, I was at the podium on the House floor where I got the opportunity to preside as the Acting Chair of the Committee of the Whole House – where Members, including Delegates, consider, debate, and vote on legislation on the House Floor. I managed debate over amendments to H.R. 2483, the SUPPORT for Patients and Communities Reauthorization Act. The SUPPORT Act was enacted in 2018 in response to the opioid epidemic that ravaged communities across the country. I thank the House leadership for entrusting me with this awesome responsibility.
