Congratulations to the CNMI Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management on receiving $7,076,132.78 in FEMA grant funding to support emergency protective measures following Super Typhoon Sinlaku. This award is funded at a 100% federal cost share under Section 403 of the Robert T. Stafford Act. The funding will reimburse and support critical emergency response activities carried out between April 12 and July 9, 2026, including personnel costs, contract services, and the operation of the Emergency Operations Center. It also supports the dissemination of critical information to the public, medical care and transportation, and the delivery and distribution of medical supplies. Super Typhoon Sinlaku created an immediate threat to the health and safety of residents across the Commonwealth and required an extensive emergency response. This federal assistance recognizes the significant resources the CNMI deployed during the disaster and helps ensure our local agencies have the support they need to respond effectively.
