$628k for weatherization and state energy programs

The Commonwealth is receiving $682,172 in Weatherization Assistance, Readiness, and State Energy Program funds, the Department of Energy announced Monday. These grants are aimed at helping low-income families in the Marianas reduce their energy expenses by lowering their CUC bills. Specifically, the CNMI Energy Division will receive $217,860 in FY2025 Weatherization Assistance Program funds and $64,922 in Weatherization Readiness funds to improve household energy efficiency and decrease energy costs. Additionally, the Commonwealth will be allocated $345,390 in FY2025 State Energy Program funds to support the implementation of broader energy efficiency initiatives benefiting all households
