Nine projects I requested totaling $5,684,950 were included in the FY 2027 spending bill approved by the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies. These investments address critical needs across the Marianas:

  • $1,000,000 – Emergency Typhoon Shelter for Tinian
  • $900,000 – Technology Infrastructure and Digital Initiative, Northern Marianas College
  • $800,000 – Fire Protection and Plumbing Improvements, NMI Judiciary
  • $800,000 – Veterans Retreat and Resource Center
  • $750,000 – Transit Ambulances, Department of Fire and EMS
  • $584,950 – Senior Center Renovation and Service Improvement
  • $300,000 – Training Center and Storage Facility, Department of Lands and Natural Resources
  • $300,000 – Campus Outfitting for Workforce Training, Northern Marianas Technical Institute
  • $250,000 – Heavy Equipment Acquisition for Rota

I thank our Commonwealth agencies for their work in developing strong proposals that earned approval by the Appropriations Committee. I look forward to working with my colleagues to advance this bill through the full Appropriations Committee and to the House floor.
