$250k for audit assistance

The Department of the Interior’s Office of Insular Affairs announced Tuesday that the CNMI Department of Finance will receive $250,000 in Fiscal Year 2025 Technical Assistance Program funding. The grant is intended to help the Commonwealth address its backlog of overdue single audits and improve compliance with federal audit requirements. Funds may be used to hire additional accounting and financial management personnel to enhance the timeliness and quality of audit submissions. Identical funding has been awarded to other U.S. insular areas and Freely Associated States facing similar challenges.
