Recovery and Resilience at Northern Marianas Technical Institute
I visited Northern Marianas Technical Institute to personally assess the condition of the campus following the impact of Super Typhoon Sinlaku. Walking through the facility, it was clear that there is still a long road ahead, but I was encouraged by the determination and resilience shown by both the instructors and students. During my visit, I had the opportunity to sit down with members of the school community to discuss their immediate needs, ongoing cleanup efforts, and plans to safely resume classes and training programs. Despite the challenges, everyone remains focused on moving forward and getting back on course as quickly as possible. NMTech plays an important role in preparing our workforce and creating opportunities for our people, so restoring normal operations is critical to our recovery. I left the visit grateful for the dedication of the staff, students, and volunteers working hard to rebuild and continue serving our community.
