On Tuesday, the Small Business Committee advanced H.R. 5100, a bipartisan bill to extend the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs, and for other purposes. The SBIR and STTR programs provide small businesses with critical funding to develop innovative solutions tailored to federal agency needs. The programs’ authority is set to expire on September 30, 2025. Extending these programs keeps the door open while Congress works toward a long-term plan that better supports small businesses everywhere, including in the Marianas.
