Conversations on Interisland Connectivity with MACS
The team at Micronesian Air Connection Services (MACS) stopped by the District Office to discuss upcoming developments in their interisland air service, the work we are doing on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, and the challenges that still exist in moving passengers between our islands. All too often, federal regulations designed to serve a country as large as ours become an unacceptable inconvenience or even an obstacle when applied to small island communities like the CNMI. Flying between Saipan, Tinian, Rota, and Guam should be easy, reliable, and accessible. Connecting our islands is essential for our economy, healthcare, education, and everyday life. Thank you to the MACS team for the update and discussion. We will keep working to ensure federal transportation policy supports common sense solutions for interisland travel and gives our local providers the opportunity to better connect the Marianas.
