Congratulations to a Friend of the Marianas
Congratulations to Jordan Roiland on his appointment as the University of California’s 2027-28 Student Regent-designate. Jordan will represent students from across the University of California system, serving on the Board of Regents, which governs all 10 UC campuses. Jordan lived and worked in the CNMI from 2022 to 2024, serving with the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Public Health Associate Program. During his time here, he supported cancer prevention initiatives and helped our community through the Covid-19 pandemic. I had the pleasure of welcoming Jordan to my Washington office in April of this year, where he reflected on how much his time in the Marianas shaped him, both professionally and personally. He shared his interest in possibly returning to the CNMI to practice medicine after completing his training. We congratulate Jordan on this historic honor as the first medical student selected to serve as a University of California Student Regent and wish him continued success as he prepares for a career in medicine.
